Every October OSTA grants empty bus seats, if available, to students who do not qualify for transportation.
- Kindergarten - the distance between the pick-up/drop-off address and school must be more than 800 metres (0.8 km)
- Grades 1 to 6 - the distance between the pick-up/drop-off address and school must be more than 1.6 km
Applications may be forwarded to OSTA during the month of September. Please note the applications will not be reviewed by OSTA until October 1 each year. This is an annual process. Students who have been granted an empty seat for the current school year must reapply for an empty seat for the following year.
Students, even those previously granted empty seats, may not begin using the empty seats until OSTA has confirmed they have been granted. OSTA will determine the start date for the empty seats.
