Welcome to Lakeview Public School!
A video message from Principal Joëlle Rudick
As a principal, I have high expectations for our students and staff. I believe that treating others with kindness is essential to our partnership. I live by this belief as I work conscientiously and with an open mind with students, staff, and community members. Students and adults are welcome to call me Joëlle (pronounced Joe-WELL) or Madame Joëlle.
The partnership between school, students, and parents and guardians is essential to support each student in their learning and well-being. These relationships will ensure that we are working together to set each child up for success. Families are welcomed to join us at school on many occasions, including volunteering opportunities in classrooms, on field trips, for assemblies, and other special events.
Everyone is welcome here! As a school, we are dedicated to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for our students, staff, parents and guardians, and community members. We value and celebrate the diversity in our school, believing that it contributes to a positive learning environment for our students as well as to the well-being of the whole school community.
I am committed to championing human dignity and working to make the changes necessary to support success and wellbeing for all those I serve and lead. I know that I will not always get it right. I am open to feedback from students, families and colleagues - especially from those whose racial, cultural, ethnic or sexual identities are different from my own. If you feel I am not hearing your concerns from your perspective or acting on my commitments, please let me know in person, virtually or in writing. You may also contact my superintendent or our Human Resources department directly. In all interactions with me, you are welcome to bring a community advocate.
As a school leader, one of my goals is to listen with openness and curiosity. I look forward to hearing from you.
